I had a great afternoon sitting here answering these questions. Since I was nominated by two people I decided to mix things up a little and answer half the questions from each blogger.
What’s your dream job?
Well that is easy! I am a teacher, and honestly it really is my dream job. I will never forget the first form I filled out when I graduated uni, in the space where it said occupation I could finally write “Teacher”(I was smiling from ear to ear) Sure teaching high school students sometimes has its moments, but it is such a rewarding job. Students are so honest and real and I am ensured everyday when I turn up to work that there is never going to be a dull moment.
What are your favourite lyrics?
“Life is what happens to you, while your busy making other plans”
My Dad used to sing this song to my brother and I when we were little. He always loved that line, and I have grown up to really realise how powerful it actually is. It teaches me to live in the moment and stop all the “some day’s” and “I wish”. Life is happening now! It is such a beautiful song.
Which famous person would you love to be BFFs with?
Now this is simple! Taylor Swift of course!!
Her quirky, good girl attitude is infectious and her love for cats really resonates with me! I love how she doesn’t take herself too seriously… and well she does produce a bloody catchy tune or two!…. We would totes be BFFs!
Where have you always wanted to travel?
I have been very fortunate enough to travel to some beautiful corners of the world.. however there is one place I really want to get to.. .India!
I don’t know why but I am really fascinated by the culture. The colourful textiles, the vibrant food and the spirituality is so beautiful. I am currently reading Holy Cow by Sarah Macdonald which gives a very interesting and honest account of visiting India.. it is on the to do list! (should take advice from the previous question right?!)
What makes you smile?
Lots of things make me smile. My love, family, friends, my puppy, good food, good energy, a slice of cake, the ocean, animals, a new pen, pineapples… I could go on forever.
Savoury or sweet?
You only have to take a look around my blog briefly to realise the answer to this one! Saying I have a sweet tooth would be a serious understatement. I love all things sweet.
What’s in your bag?
Oh dear.. where do I begin… I am the type of person that when I carry a bag, it’s a serious bag with an enormous amount of junk in it. It’s unusual because I am a total OCD freak when it comes to every other aspect of my life. A few things that you are bound to find in any of my bags is..
- 8+ lip glosses. (I dont know I seem to breed them or something)
- 45 bobby pins (I seem to breed them as well)
- My pretty diary and pen
- Crystals. I have always carried crystals with me. They are very important to me. I make sure I always have clear quarts, rose quarts and amethyst on hand for whatever situation life throws at me.
- Coins. I love coins and collect them off my brother who hates them. I feel richer with heaviness of coins!!
If you could learn any language, which one would you learn?
FRENCH!! I tried so so hard before I went to France to learn a little of the language. I listened to French lessons in my car, I read books and even listened to French music.. The French are so mesmerising and elegant in the way they speak. Everything sounds romantic and beautiful (even when it is a cab driver hurling abuse out the window). I will one day master the art of the French language and string a beautiful sentence together. “oui oui!”
If you could have any magic power, which one would you choose?
Could I just be Harry Potter please?
Why did you start blogging?
I guess the seed for my blog really began last year during my travels through Europe. I can’t pin point exactly what it was whilst I was travelling, maybe it was the French air I was breathing, or the ridiculous amounts of cheese and butter I was ingesting, but something sparked. I began to see the world through different eyes and felt an overwhelming urge to reflect and share my life’s encounters through my writing and photography. That is exactly what a pretty little life blog is all about.
If you only had one day to live, what would your last meal be?
I have discussed this question with at length with my brother…. allot!
I would start with a big platter of french cheese, then it would be a main course of chicken pie and vegetables made by my mum….. and for dessert it would have to be a sour cream donut from Tim Hortons in Canada (actually make that 2). All washed down with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot please!! Now how is that for a well rounded meal!
